It’s not about ideas, it’s about making ideas happen
A qualification in B. Com bank management from the SA College of Arts & Science includes a detailed examination of the workings of banks (and related deposit-taking financial intermediaries) in the context of the banking system in particular, and the financial system generally. The students will learn how to analyse the activities, roles, and regulations of commercial and investment banks. As technological and financial innovation rapidly evolves, graduates with specialized knowledge in this area are highly sought after in the banking industry.
Department Overview
The department aim is to provide students with a broad overview of the key concepts, tools and techniques of today’s dynamic banking environment. This programme is aimed at escalating the potential of the student to match the needs of the current Banking and Financial Sector (BFS). Well-designed academics combined with live projects, corporate interaction and affiliation to professional societies provide the winning edge to the aspirants to start a fulfilling career. This is further strengthened through student centric industry aligned value added courses and soft skill training. MoU’s with leading banks to start incubation centres to give practical exposure to students either is in the pipeline.

This undergraduate programme is intended for students who want an attractive, secure, and prestigious job in the ever-dynamic field of Banking. The students should have completed 10+2 in Commerce, Accountancy, and Business Mathematics/Computer Science /Statistics/ Business Studies.

Objectives
To provide a foundation for application of modern management principles and practices. To expose the students to the pressing needs and demands of the BFS from diverse perspectives. To help students identify the crucial role of BFS in the growth of the economy. To explore the role of money in financial institutions and markets based on the regulations laid by RBI, SEBI and Ministry of Finance.
Programme Outcomes (PO’s)
On graduation, students acquire skills in fields like Marketing / Finance / Logistics / Banking / Insurance / IT, and ITES.Understand the conceptual knowledge of accounting and acquire skills of maintaining accounts.Develop the skills and techniques of communication to be successful in business and personal life.Recognize different value systems and ethics, understand the moral dimensions, and accept responsibility.
