Department Overview
The department aim is to provide students with a broad overview of the key concepts, tools and techniques of today’s dynamic banking environment. This programme is aimed at escalating the potential of the student to match the needs of the current Banking and Financial Sector (BFS). Well-designed academics combined with live projects,corporate interaction and affiliation to professional societies provide the winning edge to the aspirants to start a fulfilling career. This is further strengthened through student centric industry aligned value added courses and soft skill training. MoU’s with leading banks to start incubation centres to give practical exposure to students either is in the pipeline.

To impart quality education through interdisciplinary approach both in theory and practical learning in banking field. To build an interactive and practical learning platform for the students To help the students to develop professionalism through innovation and ethics.
Objectives
To provide a foundation for application of modern management principles and practices. To expose the students to the pressing needs and demands of the BFS from diverse perspectives. To help students identify the crucial role of BFS in the growth of economy. To explore the role of money in financial institutions and markets based on the regulations laid by RBI, SEBI and Ministry of Finance.
Programme Outcomes (PO’s)
Transform the students to qualified professional who can excel in banking-related financial activities. Equip the banking aspirants with adequate knowledge and confidence to meet the industry requirements. Understand the impact of banking policies and practices in current environmental context in India and across different nations. Inculcate the importance of regulatory guidelines both locally and internationally, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility in banking sector. Broaden the minds of students to ensure that their contributions to the society are ethical, value based and environment friendly.
Programme Specific Outcome (PSO’s):
Acquire in-depth understanding about the functioning of various component of banking Ability to conceptualize and apply modern tools and techniques in actual banking environment. Ability to identify, investigate, analyze and provide appropriate solution for the problems in the Banking Industry. Students are exposed to general business principles, required accounting, economic and quantitative skills.Students will gain requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for successful transition to leadership roles.
