Inner Wheel is an All Women Social Service Organisation which holds the motto “Friendship and Service” as its soul and works for Women Empowerment and creates awareness about the environment. The club functions under four levels which are International, National, District and Regional. Chennai District Club is the 323rd club and there are 59 regional clubs running under the Chennai Inner Wheel Club. The Chennai District club usually conducts a three-day workshop called “Manoranjitham” for school and college students. There are lots of projects carried out by the Chennai Inner Wheel club and some of them are on Transgenders and Micro-Financing. The clubs can also adopt schools. The Chennai club has adopted nearly 59 schools and carried out several projects in those schools for the benefit of underprivileged students. It was remembered that the Inner Wheel Club was first established in Manchester, UK, almost a century ago. The Centenary Celebration of the club will commence in Manchester in three years for which all the members of the club will be invited. It was proudly announced that S.A. College of Arts & Science was the second college to be approved to join the Chennai District Inner Wheel club.
