The Governance Professional
A corporate secretary plays a pivotal role in safeguarding a company’s interest and ensuring its compliance with the law. It is a comprehensive programme, designed to give you an understanding of best practices in corporate governance and how to engage with board structures effectively. By pursuing this programme, you will master the essential elements of corporate governance, gaining expertise in key concepts, benefits, regulations, sectoral codes, and global trends that you can put to use in the corporate sector straight away.
Department Overview
This programme offers a broad look at many aspects of corporate governance with a strong foundation in the areas of Company Law and Secretarial Practices. The students get a better understanding of corporate management practices, through a blend of projects, case studies, and industrial visits.A compulsory component of the programme exposes the students to Summer Internship Programmes by working alongside the industry. During their study period, the students get a deep insight into mandatory secretarial practices for better corporate governance. They get equipped with adequate knowledge to take up responsible positions in the Secretarial, Legal, Finance, Accounts, Personnel, Administrative, Security Market Analyst, Share Dealer, Fund Manager, Company consultant, and Tax planner sectors.

This undergraduate programme is intended for students who want to build a global career in the corporate sector. The students should have completed 10+2 in Commerce, Accountancy, and Business Mathematics/Computer Science /Statistics/ Business Studies.

Objectives
To build a strong foundation in activities relating to functioning of Corporate Governance and Industrial Laws. To impart quality-based education on the changing roles of the Corporate environment. To enhance the practical knowledge of the students through projects, case studies, and industrial visits. To ensure that the knowledge transformation bridges the gap between institutions and industries.
Programme Outcomes (PO’s)
On graduation, students acquire skills in fields like Marketing / Finance / Logistics / Banking / Insurance / IT, and ITES.Understand the conceptual knowledge of accounting and acquire skills of maintaining accounts.Develop the skills and techniques of communication to be successful in business and personal life.Recognize different value systems and ethics, understand the moral dimensions, and accept responsibility.
