Inauguration of Mahakavi Bharathiyar Muthamizh Mandram at SACAS 

The Department of Tamil at S.A. College of Arts & Science proudly organized the inauguration of the Mahakavi Bharathiyar Muthamizh Mandram on July 9, 2025, in the college auditorium. The event featured a special address by Dr. S. Sellapillai, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, DG Vaishnav College, on the theme “Read Literature! Grasp Grammar!”

In his address, Dr. Sellapillai emphasized the importance of education, the value of discipline, and the need to set clear goals. Drawing from Tamil literary works and historical events, he offered inspiring thoughts to guide students towards success. He stressed that Tamilians should not just be good individuals but also be capable and empowered. He explained various methods through which students can enhance their skills and become competent contributors to society.

He encouraged students to develop self-awareness, recognize their strengths, and improve their talents—while also cultivating human values and respecting human dignity in life. The special lecture instilled the strong belief that studying Tamil literature will certainly help one achieve their goals.
