August 25, 2025
As part of the observance of World Suicide Prevention Day, our Department successfully organized a MIME performance on 23rd August 2025 at 5:00 PM at two different community locations – Avadi Lake Park and Ayyapakkam Park.
The students were divided into two groups and performed simultaneously at both venues, ensuring that the message of hope, resilience, and the importance of suicide prevention reached a wider audience.
At Avadi Lake Park, the MIME was followed by meaningful public interactions and a special session with school students. In addition, the team also initiated open conversations on Suicide Prevention Day, encouraging participants to share thoughts, ask questions, and engage in awareness-driven discussions. At Ayyapakkam Park, the MIME performance was complemented by active interactions with
youngsters and the general public, which created space for dialogue on mental well-being and the importance of timely support.
The initiative was well-received at both locations, as the performances and follow-up interactions created an impactful platform for awareness, dialogue, and reflection. The event served as a reminder that mental health matters, suicide is preventable, and every effort counts in fostering hope and support. Through this effort, our department reinforced its commitment to spreading awareness, breaking
stigma, and promoting a message of empathy, care, and collective responsibility towards suicide prevention.
