September 4, 2025

The Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association under the aegis of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship organised the Student Knowledge Transformation Study Circle #16 on the topic “Future Trends in Logistics Drone Delivery, EVs and Beyond”. The session was presented by Ms. S. Nethra, Asst. Student. Director, Ms. E. Lavanya, from II B.Com. Corporate Secretaryship. A total of 80+ students attended the session.

Ms. S. Nethra and Ms. E. Lavanya delivered an interactive, insightful, and valuable presentation on the topic “Future Trends in Logistics: Drone Delivery, EVs, and Beyond.” The presentation highlighted how logistics functions, covering the process of transporting, storing, and delivering goods efficiently. This process is undergoing a major transformation due to changing customer demands, e-commerce growth, environmental concerns, and technological innovations. The key future trends include Drone Delivery, Electric Vehicles, and Green & Sustainable Logistics. Drones are being developed for last-mile delivery, offering fast, traffic-free, and eco-friendly transport. They can access remote or disaster-hit areas and, with AI, will soon be able to carry heavier loads and navigate through smart city systems. EVs are gaining prominence in logistics fleets, ranging from vans to long-haul trucks. They provide zero emissions, lower operating costs, reduced maintenance, and quieter operations. Future advancements will include faster charging, AI-powered route management, and widespread charging hubs. Beyond drones and EVs, other innovations shaping logistics include autonomous vehicles (self-driving trucks and robots), AI & predictive analytics for efficiency, and blockchain for secure, transparent supply chain tracking. Green & Sustainable Logistics emphasizes eco-friendly practices such as solar-powered warehouses, recyclable packaging, and carbon-neutral supply chains. The presentation concluded by highlighting that logistics is rapidly evolving with drones, EVs, AI, and sustainability at its core. These innovations will make supply chains faster, more cost-effective, and environmentally responsible, enabling businesses to meet rising global demands while promoting green growth.
