Department of B.Com CA organized Kaval Yuthaivi Awareness Program on 07.10.2024

October 10, 2024

Department of B.Com CA in association with IWC organized  “Kaval Yuthaivi” which is an outreach program for combating the issues of modern society.  Its objectives focus on educating both women and young ladies about safe behaviors, the law, and techniques appropriate to issues of harassment and abuse and the other concerns of today’s world. It showcases personal and community well-being and well-being education on a vast array of issues. Below are some of the main areas of focus

Harassment

The program focuses on the many ways one can be harassed, such as workplace harassment, harassment on the streets, and harassment on social media. In this program, participants learn to identify harassment, report it, and the relevant progressive legal processes available under Indian law. It aims to empower individuals to let any instance of harassment to not go unnoticed and take fair recourse within time in defense of it, for instance, seeking legal help or lodging police complaints or contacting some support system for the affected victims.

POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act)

Most of the subjects under this program are devoted to familiarizing the general public with the provisions under the POCSO Act and how it aims to protect minors from such sexual offenses. This educates the participants about how legal provisions help in the protection of children against abuses such as exploitation, prompting the participants to look for signs of sexual abuse against children, to report those signs through proper channels. Here, a strong framework is offered from the legal and social dimensions which go in to protect the vulnerable children.

Sexual Abuse

‘Kaval Yuthavi’ focuses on issues of sexual abuse when discussed. As it helps in removing the stigma associated with the problem, information is imparted for all forms of sexual abuse, including molestation, assault, and exploitation. The victims are told to open up with confidence in the justice system to protect and support them.

Love Affairs and OnlineAwareness

With the rise in the use of social media and online platforms, the number of online relationships has been on the rise. The program makes participants aware of the dangers involved in online relationships, such as false identities, emotional manipulation, and blackmail. They are told to exercise caution while indulging in a romantic relationship online and to protect their privacy while being aware of the risks of divulging personal information.

Marriage Life After Love Affair

This subject discusses the realities and challenges a wedding might bring in light of a past romantic relationship. The inevitable problems of trust, societal pressures, and compatibility in such unions, the latter of which is often of critical importance, will all be touched on. The program advises couples to communicate with each other freely, be mutually respectful of one another, and be understanding partners in their married lives after a love affair.

The Kaval Yuthaivi App

To penetrate deeper into the program and offer a pragmatic solution for personal safety, the Kaval Yuthaivi initiative has invented a mobile app specifically devoted to assisting helpless women and children during emergency situations. The app features:

SOS: Instant alert sending options for emergency contacts or police when the user is in danger.

Location tracking: The authorities are to track the user’s location in real-time during emergencies.

Reporting system: Victims can report harassment and abuse incidents from the very app.

Legal advice: Quick legal guidance on harassment and abuses cases. his app helps provide instant

support and ensures the safety of the users, contributing to a safer environment for women and children.

The Kaval Yuthaivi program plays a crucial role in raising awareness about sensitive social issues such as harassment, sexual abuse, and online safety. It provides participants knowledge of legal protection and practical tools such as the Kaval Yuthaivi app for self-protection. The program aims to empower the individual, especially women and children, to lead safer lives and more informed ones in the social dilemma we are in today.
