In collaboration with National service scheme (NSS) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC), the Department of Accounting and Finance has conducted a First Aid Training Program held on Friday 18 th July 2025 at SACAS auditorium.
Ms. S. Varshini, Project Officer & Trainer of an established organization, ALERT that has professional know-how on emergency response and first aid education, conducted this session. It was conducted between 9.30 a.m and 11.30 a.m. This training was attended by many aspiring students.
The aim of the program was to establish awareness of simple first aid procedures so that the students acquire skills that would enable them to act confidently when medical situations need their attention. Ms. Varshini addressed the most critical issues about CPR, dealing with cuts and burns, how to react to unconsciousness, choking, and bleed management, conducted an interactive presentation, live demonstrations, and real-life scenarios.
The session stressed on the necessity of being a good citizen and responsive citizen and that immediate and right action may sometimes save lives. The students actively attended the demonstration part and eliminated their confusion on emergency procedure.
Outcome:
The students became more confident dealing with real medical conditions that may arise in life like faints, bleeding, fractures, burn and heart attacks.
