The Department of Commerce (Bank Management) organized an Industrial Visit on Monday, 7th August 2025, as part of its academic enrichment program. The visit took place at LLM Appliances Private Limited (Butterfly – Since 1935), located in Mambakkam, and Chennai – 600127.
A total of 54 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Dr. M. Neelabai, Assistant Professor, and Mr. T. Baladhandayudham , Assistant Professor Faculty members of the Bank Management department.
The visit commenced at 11:00 AM. Students were welcomed by Mr. S. Karthiban, Head of HR , who gave a brief history and background of LLM Appliances, highlighting the company’s legacy, vision, and growth since its establishment in 1935.
Following the introduction, Mr. P. Premkumar, Executive – HRD, provided a guided tour of the plant and gave an overview of the facility layout, departments, and general operations of the company.
A highly informative technical session was conducted by Mr. A. Baskar, Head of Quality Control. He gave an in-depth explanation of the production processes, product development, quality assurance methods, packaging techniques, and grading systems. He also provided a detailed walkthrough of the manufacturing units, showcasing various stages of product assembly and quality inspection. His presentation offered students a comprehensive understanding of the operational workflow inside the plant.
The industrial visit proved to be a highly enriching experience for the students, offering them valuable exposure to real-time industrial practices and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. The department sincerely thanks the management and staff of LLM Appliances Pvt. Ltd. for their warm hospitality and valuable insights.
