On January 29th, 2024. The department of B.Com CA in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra organized a Road safety awareness campaign and volunteering support for Road traffic on 29.01.2024

Road safety is a safety measure to reduce the risk of road accidents and road side injury because of the mistakes of people while driving on the road. We cannot count the daily road side accidents and death of people because of the driving mistakes and lack of road traffic rules followers. Every person going on the road has risk of injury or death.

A rally on Road Safety Awareness was organized as part of the Road Safety week by   Mr.Aswin, NYKS, NYV, Selection Committee member, started the rally, followed  by 50 students of B.Com CA from Kaduvetti Government hospital  to SACAS and the programme continued by a short speech by Mr Chanramouli Traffic Police Inspector,  Poonamalle. in his session he conveyed about Awareness on the road is very important for our safety and safety of others”. He discussed the statistics of various types of road accidents and explained the reasons that lead to these accidents. He further gave examples of various types of traffic violations. The session was very interactive with the students The volunteers were given T- Shirts, Badges and Caps for the rally.

Every year many people lose their life in road accidents in our country. The human cost is immeasurable as is the economic burden it puts on the families of the deceased/injured persons. In such a situation, a collective awakening to road safety is required. Initiatives focused on public education, strengthened enforcement of traffic regulations, and the development of safer infrastructure are crucial to reverse this alarming trend. Towards this objective, Government of India observes National Road Safety Week from 11-17th January every year. 

 The main purpose of the programme to coordinate with Traffic Police department to provide opportunity for youth to be trained on Road Safety norms. To facilitate collaboration with Traffic police department to enable trained student’s volunteers to become part of traffic management during National Road Safety Week and to Conduct locally relevant intensive road safety awareness activities to enable awareness generation among public. 


Celebrate Literacy Day on 08.09.2023

On 8th September 2023, students from Department of B.Com CA participated in an event to celebrate Literacy Day. As part of this event, a group of students, accompanied by teachers, stood on the road near our campus, holding placards with literary quotes, and messages promoting the importance of literature.

The event began at 8:00 a.m. and lasted until 9.00 a.m. The students were divided into several groups, each stationed at strategic points on the road to maximize visibility and engagement with the passing pedestrians and motorists. They displayed creativity and enthusiasm throughout the event, attracting the attention and interest of the general public.

The participants had prepared their own placards, showcasing their knowledge and appreciation for literature. Some placards also highlighted the benefits of reading and literary activities, such as enhancing language skills, broadening knowledge, and fostering creativity.

The students interacted warmly with passersby, engaging in conversations about literature, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
Throughout the event, the students conducted themselves with utmost discipline and responsibility. They adhered to traffic rules, ensuring their presence on the road did not cause any inconvenience or disruption to vehicle flow. Additionally, they maintained a respectful and positive attitude, representing our institution and the spirit of Literacy Day admirably.

The event concluded at 9:00 a.m. with a brief gathering where the participating students shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude to the teachers and organizers for providing them with this platform to celebrate literature.

The event served as a reminder of the importance of literature in our lives and the efforts our institution takes to nurture a love for reading and writing among students.


Industrial Visit – Aavin Dairy at Madhavaram on 5.09.2023

National Nutrition Week (NNW) is an annual event that aims to promote healthy eating habits and educate individuals about the importance of nutrition in their daily lives. As part of this initiative, II B.com CA participated in a one-day visit to the Madhavaram AAvin dairy industry on September 5th, 2023. The theme for the visit was to discover the power of innovation through an industrial visit.

Arriving at Madhavaram AAvin, we were greeted by the sight of modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art machinery. It was evident that innovation played a significant role in ensuring the efficiency and productivity of the dairy industry. The visit began with a brief introduction to the history of AAvin and its commitment to providing nutritious dairy products to the consumers.

During the visit, we got a chance to witness the various processes involved in the production of dairy products. From the milking of cows to the packaging of the final products, every step was meticulously executed to maintain the quality and freshness of the dairy items. The staff provided valuable insights into the techniques they employed to maximize the nutritional value of the products.

One of the highlights of the visit was the observation of the quality control procedures. We, learned about the rigorous testing methods employed to ensure that every batch of dairy products adhered to the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
Moreover, the Madhavaram AAvin dairy industry showcased its commitment to innovation by implementing sustainable practices. They emphasized the utilization of renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, to reduce their carbon footprint and conserve natural resources. This initiative truly reflected the power of innovation in creating a sustainable and eco-friendly future.

In conclusion, the one-day visit to Madhavaram AAvin dairy industry during National Nutrition Week was an eye-opening and enriching experience.This visit served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a nutritious diet and the significant role that the dairy industry plays in supporting our health and well-being.


Awareness Program on Plastic Waste Management- Department of B.com.CA

Introduction: An awareness program on plastic waste management was organized on August 24, 2023, with the objective of educating the community about the importance of responsible plastic waste disposal. The event was conducted in collaboration with Bisleri International Private Limited, one of the leading companies in the beverage industry. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Dhanasekar Srinivasan, Executive CSR, and Mr. Iyyappan Janakiraman, Executive CSR, both from Bisleri International Private Limited.

Event Details: The awareness program was held SACAS and was attended by students and teachers. The program commenced at 10:00 AM and lasted until 12:00 PM.

Inauguration and Welcome Address:

The event began with a formal inauguration ceremony, during which the chief guest, Mr. Dhanasekar Srinivasan, and Mr. Iyyappan Janakiraman were welcomed on stage.
The organizers extended their gratitude to Bisleri International Private Limited for their partnership and support in conducting the event.

Keynote Speeches:

Mr. Dhanasekar Srinivasan delivered a keynote speech on the significance of plastic waste management and its impact on the environment.
Mr. Iyyappan Janakiraman shared insights on Bisleri International Private Limited's initiatives towards sustainable packaging and recycling.
Presentation on Plastic Waste Management:

A comprehensive presentation was delivered by a team of environmental experts who provided an overview of plastic waste management techniques, including reduce, reuse, and recycle.
They highlighted the adverse effects of improper plastic waste disposal and suggested alternative eco-friendly materials.

Interactive Sessions and Workshops:

Engaging interactive sessions and workshops were conducted to educate the participants on the segregation, collection, and recycling of plastic waste.
Practical demonstrations were carried out, showcasing creative ways to repurpose plastic waste into useful products.

Panel Discussion:
The panel addressed queries from the audience and discussed strategies for effective plastic waste management at individual and community levels.

STEM Training Program for II and III Year B.Com CA

The technical training program was conducted for the II and III-year B.Com CA students by STEM training solutions from 24-07-2023 to 28-07-2023.

 


B.Com CA Talent Hunt on 14.07.2023

The department of Commerce (CA) successfully completed the Inter Departmental Competitions, on the occasion of International Youth Skills Day on 14.07.23. The event was a talent hunt that showcased the incredible skills and abilities of our youth workforce.

We were honoured to have Ms. Monisha Venkatraman, “Co-Owner of Visible Difference”a renowned expert in the field, as our chief guest for the event. Her presence added immense value and encouraged our participants to give their best performances.

The competition comprised of four exciting and challenging events that took place on 13.07.23. The events are:

  1. RJ Hunt: Participants had the opportunity to showcase their talent as radio jockeys, demonstrating their communication skills, creativity, and ability to engage listeners.
  2. Just the Solution: This event tested the problem-solving skills of our participants. They were presented with real-life scenarios and had to come up with innovative solutions.
  3. Plan De Negotio Business Plan: In this event, participants were required to develop a comprehensive business plan for a hypothetical company using their entrepreneurial skills, strategic thinking, and financial analysis.
  4.  Techno Model: This event allowed participants to showcase their technical prowess by creating and presenting innovative technological models.

OUTCOMES OF THE EVENT

The   main aim of this event   is to create awareness for the youths about the importance of having the set of skill for the jobs at hand and to highlight their talents and skills. This aim is achieved and the outcome of the event has come out well as planned.
