Madras Day Celebration with Spectacular Human Formation
On August 22, 2023, S. A. College of Arts & Science took the 348th Madras Day celebration to new heights by orchestrating a breathtaking human formation. Students came together in a magnificent display of unity and creativity. Under the guidance of dedicated faculty members, the students formed intricate patterns on the college ground, by forming Happy Madras Day. This unique and artistic tribute showcased the college's commitment to celebrating the city's heritage. The programme was organised by the Rotaract Club of SACAS, Department of English, Computer Science & Applications. Mr. M. Vignesh Kumar, faculty coordinator of Rotaract Club of SACAS coordinated the formation. This innovative gesture highlighted the vibrant spirit of S. A. College of Arts & Science in honoring its beloved city on this special day.

On August 22, 2023, S. A. College of Arts and Science delivered an uplifting message to all with their human formation of a Cancer Ribbon with the slogan "Don't Give Up, Keep Smiling." This powerful slogan embodies resilience and positivity, reminding us to face challenges with a smile. The event was a symbol of unity and mental well-being, emphasizing the college's commitment to nurture both academic excellence and the spirit of optimism. The programme was organised by the Rotaract Club of SACAS, Department of English, Computer Science & Applications. Mr. M. Vignesh Kumar, faculty coordinator of the Rotaract Club of SACAS coordinated the formation. S. A. College continues to inspire us to conquer life's hurdles with a smile and unwavering determination.
A two-day VFX and Maya Bootcamps on 14 and 21 August 2023
The Department of Visual Communication organised A two-day VFX and Maya Bootcamps on 14 and 21 August 2023 in the CG Lab of SA College of Arts and Science from 2 to 4 pm. Two resource persons from Image Creative Education handled sessions. Mr. Ram Shreyas from the Department of VFX handled the session on VFX on 14 August 2023 and Mr. Dinesh Kumar from the Department of 3D handled the session on Maya on 21 August 2023. All the students from the three batches were present on the 14th and the students from the third BSc Visual Communication could not attend the session on the 21st as they had to upskill the workshop for career progression.

S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully hosted its Annual HR Conclave - A Journey from Campus to Corporate on 18 & 19 of August 2023 at the SACAS Preview Theatre. The conclave was for two days comprising three sessions. The notable speakers for the first day were Dr. Kogilavani Gopalan, IT Director at Flowserve Corporation; Mr. Vignesh Paramashivam, Campus Hiring Lead at TCS Ltd.; Mrs. Radhika Ravi, Campus Hiring National Head at Wipro; and Mr. Vimal Raj, Manager - HR at TCS Ltd. The second day was facilitated by Mr. Bablu, HR - Recruitment of TCS, Ms. Mala Jayaseelan, Project Director, Psychologist and Advocate for Mental Health, VHS and Ms. Divyabharathi, Dietician, VHS. It was an eye opening session for the students as they were given birds eye view of the needs of the corporate from the recruiters. The programme was planned by the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi and the Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar and well executed by the Director of Training and Placement Cell Mr. K. S. Prabakar.

This Event was planned and conducted by 2nd & 3rd year students with guidance of
Dr. P. Pandian, Head of the Department and Other faculty members.
Students conducted the Fresher’s Day program in a very good manner.
Games, Dance (Solo & Group), Group Singing and song with an Instrument was conducted to show their own talents and skills.
This will promote the well-being among students.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship of S.A. College of Arts & Science inaugurated its Association named “The Corporate Governance Professionals Association” on 17.08.2023. The Chief Guest for the day is Mr. Athesh Ravi, Founder & Principal Consultant, Arrow Point Market Research and Insight Solutions. The title of the session was Transformational Leadership For The Digital Era.” A Leaders is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”. He spotlights the important skill sets required for the new generation where he has emphasised the significance of good leaders and impact we make in the development of our country. He shared his insights on: How to make our self as a Transformational leader, How to Develop skills, 4 Thumb rule of leader, Importance of Developing Leadership Skills, Leadership Core Values, Strategies about the world leaders and Steps to become a Good Leader. After his speech, the Students Associate members are honoured by the guest with Badges and Appointment Letters.

An expert talk on Recent Trends in Artificial Intelligence on 16.08.2023
The Department of Computer Science & Applications of S. A. College of Arts & Science organized an expert talk on Recent Trends in Artificial Intelligence on 16th August 2023. The Resource Person for this session was Dr. Swarna Ravindra Babu, Founder & CEO, Coovum Smart Systems and Services Private Ltd, Chennai.
The programme started with the welcome address delivered by Mr. P. Chandrasekar, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science & Applications. Ms. Riya Tiwari from II BCA introduced the Resource Person to the gathering. Around 160 students were participated in this session.
Dr. Swarna Ravindra Babu eloborated on Artificial Intelligence covering different aspects such as Industry Revolutions, Digital Transformation, Project Understanding, Market Trends, Potential in Future and etc.
He has given an overview about Deep Learning and Learning Mechanisms in Machine Learning Algorithms especially about Supervised Learning. The evolution of IT (Information Technology), OT (Operation Technology) and IoT (Internet of Things) has been explained. He also explained about Big Data, Natural Language Processing (NLP) etc., with examples. Further he interacted with the students about programming languages such as Python and VS Code, hands-on projects and industry aspects.
The event was followed by a question and answer session. Finally, Akilan from II B.Sc. CS delivered the vote of thanks. Master of Ceremony was done by Henry Anthony from II BCA.
