Walkathon - walk for your dream on 10.03.2024

As a part of International Women's day celebration, Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science Sponsored By Rotary Club of Ambattur (RID - 3232) coordinated one day *Walkathon - walk for your dream* organized by *Suryan FM 93.5* at Island Ground, Chennai on 10/3/24. 43 Rotaract students came coordinated Walkathon activities. “The idea is to celebrate sisterhood and create a safe environment where women don't feel watched. When better than Women's Day to achieve that?” shares Anoushka Jain, founder, Enroute Indian History, adding, “Exploring heritage via such walks helps women reclaim the city where they live." We would like extend our gratitude towards Principal mam, Director mam and Correspondent sir for giving this opportunity.


A one day Walkthone on " *What with Understanding for Peace* "  on 23/02/2024

Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Coral conducted one day Walkthone on " *What with Understanding for Peace* "  on 23/02/2024 ( Friday) at S.A. College Campus between 8 a.m to 9 a.m. 

130 students from various departments were participated the event. Walkthone started from College main gate to Sudharasanam school, followed by S.A. Engineering College. Students hold pluck cards and explains about Peace.


One Day Soft Skill Personal Development on *The Emcee Era* on 20.2.2024

Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Sciences, Sponsered by Rotary Club of Ambattur, Conducted One Day Soft Skill Personal Development on *The Emcee Era* at SACAS Auditorium on 20/02/2024 ( Tuesday) between 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. *Ms. Paviethra Sarathi* was the Speaker for the event. Rotaract coordinators along with students from various departments participated  this Skill enhancement program.The core concepts of the event are enhancing communication skills, instilling discipline, and identifying driving factors for personal and professional growth.


“Empowering Minds – The Story of Kolapasi” was conducted by the Rotary Club on 11.10.2023

"Empowering Minds - The Story of Kolapasi" was conducted by the Rotary Club of Chennai Sneham in association with the Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts and Science on 11th October 2023 at SACAS Preview Theatre. Mr. Santhosh Muruganantham was the chief guest who is the co-founder and managing director of Kolapasi Indian Kitchen. He made an interactive session among students and how to develop our entrepreneurship. Students from Various departments were participated.


“TERRY FOX RUN” on 1.10.2023 

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ambattur, organized the "TERRY FOX RUN" event on October 1, 2023. 42 college students participated in the event from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. either running or walking, 3 kilometers for cancer awareness. 4 faculty members also joined the event. After we completed the run, medals were provided to all participating students.


International peace conference “What Next” on 27.09.2023

Rotaract club of SA college of arts and sciences along with Rotary Club of Chennai Tidel Park, District Annette's Council, RC Madras metro zone, RC Chennai Velachery, RC Chennai Prisms, RAC of Chennai Genesis conducted the International peace conference "What Next" the speakers covers the intercultural competencies for peace building (peace scholarship, profession and competencies for peace) held at the SACAS preview theatre from 2 pm - 3.30 pm. Rtn. Vasanthi Ranganathan was the moderator for the session, Rtn. Ashima Kaur, Rtn. Mariyana, Rtn. Rajamani from different parts of the world were the speakers of the session. Above 150 members were benefited by this session.

 


“Udhiram 2.0” – A blood donation drive on 26.09.2023

S.A. College Achieves Remarkable Blood Donation Milestone - “Udhiram 2.0”
S.A. College of Arts & Science witnessed a remarkable feat in the pursuit of excellence: “Udhiram 2.0” a blood donation drive. Blood donation hailed as one of the noblest acts not only fosters a healthy iron balance in the body but also aids in safeguarding lives from various ailments. Rotaract Club of SACAS, in collaboration with Ambattur Rotary Club organised a blood donation camp on September 26, 2023. This initiative garnered attention for its altruistic spirit as it aimed to preserve countless lives at no cost. The event collected a total of 140 units of blood from both students and the general public. The Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar played an instrumental role in steering the college's Rotaract Club towards this momentous achievement.

Guest of the event was David Rosario President Elect, Rotary Club of Ambattur.

Program created an awareness on Rotary Rotaract and Socio-economic development Program successfully created a light inside the First year students of S.A college of Arts and science Program was a interactive session, consist of Ice breaking session, Chart preparation and presentation.


A Human Chain Formation on 13.09.2023

The Department of English, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of SACAS, successfully organised a Human Chain Formation on September 13, 2023, between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. This event was held to commemorate the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer and to raise awareness about the critical issue of environmental conservation. The event garnered strong support from the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar.

Mr. M. Thanga Kumaran, the Head of the Department of English, addressed the students, emphasising the importance of preserving nature and the environment. He highlighted the need to instil this vital thought in the young minds of students alongside their academic curriculum. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and Rotaract Club members. Participants formed a human chain as a symbolic gesture of unity in the cause of environmental preservation. The event's success was a testament to the passion and dedication of SACAS students and staff in championing environmental causes. It served as a poignant reminder of the responsibility we all share in safeguarding our planet for future generations.
