The Department of Corporate Secretaryship, a prominent association of Corporate Governance Professionals, celebrated the World Tourism Day on September 27, 2023, with a human chain formation event focused on the theme of "Tourism and Green Investments." Over 100 students participated in this event, which spanned from Sudharsanam Vidyasharam School to S.A. College of Arts & Science. As part of the celebration, students dressed as iconic tourist destinations to promote cultural awareness. The event also featured informative charts highlighting various tourist places, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and green investments in the tourism industry.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship, in its relentless pursuit of nurturing talent and creativity, organized the highly anticipated Talent Hunt 2.0 on September 15, 2023 at 02.15 pm in SACAS theatre. This event witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 30 students from our department who showcased their exceptional skills in various domains, including group dance, music, painting, and more. Talent Hunt 2.0 not only served as a platform for students to exhibit their diverse talents but also offered them a unique opportunity to enhance their self-expression and confidence. The event's resounding success underscored its significance in fostering a culture of creativity and self-discovery among the students.

The Corporate Governance Professional Association of the Department Of Corporate Secretaryship Marked The Global Corporate Governance Day On September 15, 2023 at 9.30am in SACAS theatre, with a distinguished event. The Esteemed Occasion was graced by Mrs. Uma Krishnamurthy, a Renowned Consultant and Trainer from Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, delivered a captivating speech centred on the themes of GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP “Governance and leadership are the two sides of the coin” she spotlight the importance of leadership and impact it makes in organization. And the need of corporate governance and the effect it makes. The event provided an enriching platform for students’ corporate professionals to gain insights and inspiration in the realms of governance and leadership, promoting a culture of corporate generosity and social responsibility.

The Corporate Governance Professional Association of The Department of Corporate Secretaryship, celebrated the Global Corporate governance Day on September 15, 2023 at 10.15 am in SACAS theatre, with a series of Intra-Collegiate events aimed at promoting corporate benevolence and responsible business practices. These events included a Business Quiz, Corporate Walk, Ad Zap competition, Business Plan presentation, and a Best Manager contest. The enthusiastic participation of numerous students showcased their keen interest in these subjects and their commitment to the ideals of corporate governance. The winners of these events were recognized and awarded certificates for their outstanding achievements, marking a successful commemoration of this significant occasion.

The event proved to be an invaluable source of knowledge for all attendees, providing a deeper understanding of the G20's role in shaping global economic policies and cooperation.


Best Research Paper Award – 2023

Glad to share that the Final Year B.Com. CS students Ms. S. Madhumitha & Mr. S. Shivanesh presented a research paper in the International Conference at Thiruthangal Nadar College, Chennai and bagged the Best Paper Award in the Track II Technical Session.


“The Corporate Governance Professionals Association” on 17.08.2023

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship of S.A. College of Arts & Science inaugurated its Association named “The Corporate Governance Professionals Association” on 17.08.2023. The Chief Guest for the day is Mr. Athesh Ravi, Founder & Principal Consultant, Arrow Point Market Research and Insight Solutions. The title of the session was Transformational Leadership For The Digital Era.” A Leaders is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”. He spotlights the important skill sets required for the new generation where he has emphasised the significance of good leaders and impact we make in the development of our country. He shared his insights on: How to make our self as a Transformational leader, How to Develop skills, 4 Thumb rule of leader, Importance of Developing Leadership Skills, Leadership Core Values, Strategies about the world leaders and Steps to become a Good Leader. After his speech, the Students Associate members are honoured by the guest with Badges and Appointment Letters.


Faculty Knowledge Transformation Forum “Bill of Exchange – Financial Accounting”

On 28.07.2023, the Department of Corporate Secretaryship, S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a Faculty Knowledge Transformation Forum # 3 on the topic “Bill of Exchange – Financial Accounting”. The session was hosted and presented by Mr. M. Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of Corporate Secretaryship. He has shared the important concepts of Bill of Exchange with real time examples. The session followed by Q & A session by the faculty members and it gives an eye-opener session for the faculty members to learn practical aspects of the said topic.


World Paper Bag Day on 12.07.2023

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship celebrated Paper Bag Day on 12th July 2023 at S.A. College of Arts & Science and students were created awareness about the harmful effect of plastic bags on the environment by forming human chain. More than 120 students were involved in this human chain formation holding creative placards with creative slogans insisting the importance of using paper bags.

Our students made more than 300 handcrafts and newspaper bags in different designs with biodegradable materials, distributed them to the general public and school students by asking questions pertaining to paper bag day awareness.

The theme of World Paper Day is “If You’re ‘fantastic’, Do Something ‘dramatic’ To Cut The ‘Plastic’, Use ‘Paper Bags’.” The students participated in this event with full zeal and enthusiasm. The students made newspaper bags in different designs with biodegradable materials. This encouraged our students to create wonders. Such programmes are organized for the students to help us in highlighting their talent.
