NUTRIQUEST on March 6th 2024

The Department of Home Science – NFSMD of S.A. College of Arts & Science, orchestrated a thought-provoking seminar, 'NUTRIQUEST,' tailored for students of the department on March 6th 2024. The seminar boasted a distinguished lineup of speakers, each renowned in their respective domains. Ms.Bamini M, the former Vice President of Nutrition Support Service in Sundaram Medical Foundation unravelled the intricacies of Nutrition management in Burns. Mr.P.Krishnamoorthy the former President of the Indian Dietetic Association Chennai chapter, showed the  expertise by his presentation on Nutritional management in renal diseases. Ms. Shanthi Cauvery AT, the Managing Director of Elite Diet Studio, Chennai  focused on functional foods, offering a detailed exploration of their benefits. The seminar served as an intellectual feast, imparting substantial knowledge and practical insights. The diversity of topics covered, ranging from burns to renal diseases and functional foods, showcased the interdisciplinary nature of nutrition science.

The engagement with eminent speakers and the depth of content covered made it a truly enriching experience for all attendees.


A Value-Added Course from February 26th to March 6th

The Department of Psychology  organised a  Value-Added Course from February 26th to March 6th, aimed at augmenting the educational experience of psychology students. Under the guidance of industry professionals Ms. Srividhya and Ms. Megala from Transcend Services, students underwent a rigorous 30-hour program focusing on counselling skills through activity-based learning methodologies.


School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science signs MOU with Capital Market Services

School of Management, SACAS, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Capital Market Services, Chennai on 24.01.2024 at their campus. Thiru P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent, SACAS and Mr. S. Sivakumar, CEO, Capital Market Services, Chennai signed and exchanged the MOU. The MOU aims at giving an insight into the latest development and requirements of the industries through Knowledge sharing sessions, conclaves, seminars,  industrial visits, continuous interactions through work group studies, and internships.

S. A. College of Arts & Science reverberated with enthusiasm as it celebrated its 2nd Sports Day on March 1, 2024. Dr. M. Sundar, the Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was further dignified with the presence of the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar. 

Students showcased their sportsmanship in various events including March-past, Pyramid formation, Relay, and running races, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie.


CASE STUDY ANALYSIS & PAPER PRESENTATION ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE on 29.02.2024

The Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association under the aegis of Department Of Corporate Secretaryship, celebrated Global Information Governance Day on February 29th, 2024 at 9.30am in SACAS CG Lab, with a series of  INTER-COLLEGIATE events aimed at promoting corporate excellence and responsible business practices. These events included Case Study Analysis and paper presentation event motive to impact on ethics , leadership & analyse the business problems in both financial and decision making. The enthusiastic participation of numerous students showcased their keen interest in these subjects and their commitment to the ideals of corporate governance. The winners of these events were recognized and awarded certificates for their outstanding achievements, marking a successful commemoration of this significant occasion.

In a spectacular event, SA College of Arts and Science marked its Annual Day with prestigious guests, including Dr. R Ravanan, Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai Region. Thiru. D Dasaratham, Secretary, and Thiru. P Venkatesh Raja added to the grace, joined by director Dr. V Sayi Satyavathi. Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar presented the college's annual report, showcasing milestones and accomplishments. The day seamlessly transitioned into the College Cultural Day, a vibrant display of student talents. The atmosphere resonated with enthusiasm as the college community came together to celebrate academic achievements and cultural diversity. A memorable occasion symbolizing the college's commitment to excellence and holistic development.

The Department of Computer Science and Applications, S.A. Around 166 students from 12 colleges in and around Chennai participated in this event.

The main aim of this programme is to showcase the talents of the students ,exchange their knowledge, and foster innovation in various technical domains.

Mr.Harinarayanan, Senior Database Administrator, Servimos Technologies inaugurated the event and delivered the inauguration address.

*TEKSACASIA'24* a One Day National Level Technical Symposium on account of National Science Day 

The Department of Computer Science and Applications is organizing *TEKSACASIA'24* a One Day National Level Technical Symposium on account of National Science Day *TEKSACASIA'24* a One Day National Level Technical Symposium on account of National Science Day  in our college auditorium..

In this connection the students of the department of Computer Science and Applications performed a flashmob on the theme and posted the banner for the symposium.


“Catch them Young” on 24.2.24

Indian Oil Corporation in association with Dutchess club Chennai and the Department of Homescience-NFSMD of S.A. College of Arts and Science ,conducted a cooking competition for our students  on the theme “Catch them Young” on 24.2.24.The purpose was to bring out the creative and innovative culinary skill of the students. 54 students and 8 faculty members from various departments participated in the contest. The participants were asked to bring fully cooked dish and plate it at the venue. Three categories were given for the participants, namely salads & beverages,Main course and Desserts.The recipes were judged by Ms.Rathi Nilakandan, Co-founder of the Dutchess club, Ms.Jayanthi Murugesh, TN President Rashtriya life Saving Society RLSS and Ms.Prabha, Celebrity Nutritionist who are also members of the Dutchess Club.Prize winners were selected under all the categories and they be given an opportunity to participate in the grand finale to be held in Savera Hotel,Chennai on March 2nd 2024.


A one-day free medical checkup camp on 24.02.2024

Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Coral and Equitas Trust in association with S.A. College of Arts & Science and Commerce (Computer Application) conducted a one-day free medical checkup camp on 24/02/2024 (Saturday), at Sacas campus between 9.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

A medical team from Lifeline Hospital examined medical conditions like Eye Checkup, Acupuncture therapy and mammogram tests for Students,  Teaching, and Non-Teaching staff of S.A. College of Arts & Science. Totally 120 members participated and availed of various medical benefits, which was a big success.
