The Department of Computer Science and Applications organized an Awareness session on *Reducing Mental Stress during Placement Drives* on 3.2.2024 by our BCA Alumni students Mr.Abu and Mr.Vignesh currently working as Technical Support Engineers,Flowserve Technologies,Chennai.

During the session they gave various tips and techniques to handle interviews without fear and stress.

All together the session was very useful to our final year students.

Computer science Freshers day-” Fledgling Fiesta” on 18.10.2023

The Department of Computer Science and Applications of S.A.College of Arts & Science conducted Freshers day programme for the classes of First year BCA,B.Sc. Computer Science,B.Sc. Computer Science with Artificial intelligence students in the College Auditorium today ,(18-10-2023).

Various games and activities were organized for the students and all the students actively participated and enjoyed the event.

 


Inter college meet’23 on 17.10.2023

The Department of Computer Science and Applications students won First prize in Paper Presentation, Second prize in Art from the Waste and  Second prize in Adzap in the Inter College  Meet '23 conducted today at Nazareth College of Arts and Science. 


Inauguration of the Skill Elevation Club on 27.09.2023

The Department of Computer Science & Applications inaugurated of the Skill Elevation Club on 27.09.2023.   The inauguration was between 10.00 a.m. and 12. 00 p.m. at the Preview Theatre. 

Mr.S. Benny Mithun G.R, General Manager, Emerald Global Automation India, was the resource person of the Inauguration. He inaugurated the club and delivered his inaugural address.

He said,”It is indeed a momentous occasion for all of us as we embark on a journey of self-improvement and skill enhancement. This club is a testament to our commitment to nurture well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also possess a wide array of practical skills”. Mr.P. Chandrasekar, the head of the department listed the planned events for the year under the club. The event garnered strong support from the correspondent Mr.P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr.V.Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr.Malathi Selvakkumar.

SACAS(Host College)- FDP has organized by Department of Computer Science & Applications from 21.08.2023 to 25.08.2023

The Department of Computer Science and Applications, S.A.College of Arts & Science,Chennai-600077 has organized a 5 days National Level Faculty Development Programme as one of the Host College on Cloud Infrastructure(AWS) in collaboration with Brian O Vision Solutions India Pvt. Ltd, AICTE and Ministry of Education, Government of India from 21-08-2023 to 25-08-2023 through online Zoom platform.

India Book of Records has recognized this FDP as a record for the maximum number of participants with over 28000 faculty members from more than 400 colleges/universities all over India.


A Human Chain Formation in Connection with World Organ Donation Day on 23.08.2023

The Department of Computer Science & Applications of S. A. College of Arts & Science, organized A Human Chain Formation in Connection with World Organ Donation Day. It centered around the crucial theme of organ donation and took place on 23rd August, 2023 at the S.A.E.C. Gate. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation, dispel myths, and encourage attendees to become organ donors. Around 300 students participated.

The Department of Computer Science & Applications of S. A. College of Arts & Science, organized an Awareness Session on Organ Donation for celebrating World Organ Donation Day centered around the crucial theme of organ donation. The session took place on 23rd August, 2023 at the Preview Theatre. The Resource Person for this session was Dr. Hemal Kanvinde Quality Assurance Officer, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai-10, (along with Mr. Ganesh), who shared her(their) insights on the significance or organ donation.
The programme started with a welcome address by Mr. P. Chandrasekar, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science & Applications. Ms. Guru Karthika from II B.Sc. CS introduced the Resource Person Dr. Hemal Kanvinde. Nearly 180 students attended the session.
A series of engaging discussions with the audience, these discussions shed light on the medical aspects of organ transplantation, the emotional journeys of recipients awaiting transplantation, and the selfless contributions of donor families. Personal stories shared by the speaker(s) underscored the transformative impact of organ donation on individuals and families alike. The event also featured quite engaging interactions, and a Question and Answer session that aimed to educate students about the misconceptions surrounding organ donation, to clarify doubts, and engage in open discussions with the speaker. Attendees had the chance to register as donors on the spot, marking a concrete step towards increasing the pool of potential donors.
As a result, the students who took part in the session were equipped with accurate information and a heightened sense of responsibility towards saving lives through organ donation. This event served as a reminder that each person has the power to make a profound impact on the lives of others, even beyond their lifetime. The event concluded with a strong call to action, urging attendees to pledge their support for organ donation.
Finally, Akilan from II B.Sc. CS delivered the vote of thanks. Master of Ceremony was done by Henry Anthony from II BCA.

On August 22, 2023, S. A. College of Arts & Science took the 348th Madras Day celebration to new heights by orchestrating a breathtaking human formation. Students came together in a magnificent display of unity and creativity. Under the guidance of dedicated faculty members, the students formed intricate patterns on the college ground, by forming Happy Madras Day. This unique and artistic tribute showcased the college's commitment to celebrating the city's heritage. The programme was organised by the Rotaract Club of SACAS, Department of English, Computer Science & Applications. Mr. M. Vignesh Kumar, faculty coordinator of Rotaract Club of SACAS coordinated the formation. This innovative gesture highlighted the vibrant spirit of S. A. College of Arts & Science in honoring its beloved city on this special day.
