The radio City conducted auditions on 9.10.2023 The Department of Visual Communication of SA College of Arts and Science recently hosted an exciting event, the auditions for Super Singer Season 5, in collaboration with 91.1 FM Radio City. The event took place on 09 October at 10 AM, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of talented students eager to showcase their singing abilities. Participants displayed remarkable vocal prowess, leaving the judges with the challenging task of selecting the best contenders. The audition day was filled with melodious performances, showcasing the exceptional musical talent within our college community.

The Department of Visual Communication of SA College of Arts and Science hosted The Cuckoo International Film Awards (CIFA), a remarkable cinematic experience on October 7, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Esteemed institutions and movie enthusiasts have participated in this prestigious event. CIFA has earned global recognition as a festival and competition celebrating independent cinema and short films. It offers a platform for content providers to exhibit their creative prowess and connect with industry professionals worldwide. This event fosters knowledge exchange and encourages global recognition in the realm of filmmaking. The chief guest for this year's CIFA screening event is none other than the acclaimed Indian filmmaker and screenwriter, Seenu Ramasamy.

The grand screening of the Rameswaram International Film Festival on 14.09.2023

The Department of Visual Communication hosted the grand screening of the Rameswaram International Film Festival on 14 September 2023 from 2:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Preview Theatre of SA College of Arts and Science. The trailer launch of Veeman and the screening of three international short films were conducted. Little Turtle, Life on Edge, and Food & Design were the movies that were screened. The students had the opportunity to speak to the directors and crew members of the film over Skype.

The Department of Visual Communication of SA College of Arts & Science and International Global Film Services (IGFS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 14 September 2023 at 11:30 a.m. inside the preview theatre of SACAS. IGFS is engaged in the process of Ideation, conceptualization, and organising the Global level Film Festivals under various divisions of Film Festivals. RIFF (Rameshwaram International Film Festival), CIFA (Cuckoo International Film Awards), BIFA (Birsamunda International Film Awards), 2 11 17 International Film Festival, and PIMA (Parai International Music Awards) are the major initiatives of IGFS. Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar signed the MoU on behalf of the SA College of Arts & Science.

The Department of Visual Communication hosted the award ceremony of Parai Musical International Awards 2023 on 14 September 2023 at the Preview of Theater of SA College of Arts & Science from 10 am to 1:40 pm. Kalaivalarmani Thavil Karmegam won the award for Best Percussionist, Kalaimamani Tabla Prasad won the Lifetime Achievement award, Kavignar Kabilan was awarded as the Best Lyricist, Karunkuyil Ganesan bagged the Best Singer Male award, N R Raghunanthan won the award for Background Score, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi was the Best Singer Female, Director Raja Gurusamy became the best director, Singer Hendry won the Best Debut Music Composer award, and singer Parikkal Suresh was selected as the Best Independent Singer in the Folk Category.
