S.A. College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with the School of Commerce, organized an insightful HR Conclave on 28th January 2025 at the Preview Theater. The event focused on the theme “Synergy: 3T’s for Transformation = Talent, Technology, and Trends”, bringing together thought leaders and HR professionals from diverse industries.
The conclave provided a platform to discuss the key drivers of transformation in the workplace and how the evolving landscape of talent, technology, and trends is shaping the future of human resources.
Speaker 1: Mr. Charles Godwin – HR Leader and Public Speaker (ZOHO)
Topic: Vera Level
Mr. Godwin discussed the importance of consistency and effective communication in achieving success. He emphasized strengthening our goals and highlighted the concept of “Do It Yourself”. He also focused on the significance of networking, communication, and the value of connecting and collaborating with people. He urged the audience to celebrate every small milestone, stay passionate, humble, and to respect others.
Speaker 2: Ms. Priscilla Alice Thomas – Talent Leader (CSC)
Topic: Raising the Quotient
Ms. Thomas spoke about the importance of IQ, EQ, and CQ in personal and professional growth. She discussed the need for emotional intelligence, what to embrace and what to let go of, as well as how to respond to challenges. She stressed the importance of remembering one’s own principles and facing challenges head-on.
Speaker 3: Mrs. Vishnu Priya – Vice President and Group Head – HR (Kaveri Hospital)
Topic: Empathy-Centric HR
Mrs. Priya focused on the concept of empathy in HR, emphasizing physical, emotional, and financial wellness programs for rural communities. She highlighted wellness initiatives for Gen Z, including training, care, and innovation. She discussed the importance of creating “wow” moments for employees and shared how her organization supports diversity, equity, and inclusion. Mrs. Priya also spoke about the creation of apps related to financial and social wellness, psychological first aid, and scam awareness programs. Additionally, she talked about career growth opportunities and leadership, offering internships in non-clinical departments (3-6 months).
Speaker 4: Mr. Manoj Kumar – SRGM HR and Corporate Affairs (Aachi Masala Foods Pvt. Ltd.)
Topic: Technotics and the Future of Work
Mr. Kumar emphasized the importance of technological advancements and innovation in the workplace. He spoke about increasing women’s representation in his organization, raising it from 13% to 52%, and his commitment to enhancing employability for women. He also focused on the inclusion of people with disabilities, giving 4% importance to their employment opportunities. Mr. Kumar discussed AI, technology’s role in the workspace, and the necessity of upskilling to stay relevant in the ever-evolving job market. He emphasized work-life balance and encouraged attendees to step out of their comfort zones to prove their potential.
Speaker 5: Dr. Yuvaraj – Team Leader HR (Saint Gobain India Pvt. Ltd.)
Topic: Upgrade Your Skills for the Future
Dr. Yuvaraj shared insights on the importance of continuous learning and upskilling. He introduced the “Line While Learn” scheme and highlighted Saint Gobain’s scholarship programs. The company actively supports rural education, impacting over 250 students across India. Dr. Yuvaraj stressed that change, whether old or new, is a constant and emphasized the need to stay hungry for knowledge and embrace challenges.
