S.A. College’s Free Cancer Screening Camp Empowers Women in Kannampalayam  by UBA, NSS & Department of NFSM&D Kannampalayam village witnessed a significant health initiative on January 9, 2025, as the Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management, and Dietetics, in collaboration with the F3 Nutrition Club, Adyar Cancer Institute, NSS, and UBA, organized a free cancer screening camp at the Primary Health Centre.

Targeting women aged 30 to 60, the camp, held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, saw the participation of 30 local women. Specialists from the Adyar Cancer Institute conducted screenings for cervical and breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection.

The event featured interactive sessions on nutrition and preventive care, educating participants on maintaining a balanced diet to lower cancer risks. Women were also guided on regular health check-ups for effective cancer prevention.

This collaborative effort was lauded for raising public health awareness and providing essential medical services, empowering women to lead healthier lives.
