At SACAS, you can immerse yourself in cutting-edge research in everything from public health to eating disorders. You will develop a broad knowledge suitable for any career in the field. With practical lab sessions and work placement opportunities, you will have the experience and confidence to stand out.
Department Overview
The Nutrition, Food Service Management, and Dietetics Programme is intended for students who are interested in learning about Nutritional Science and Dietetics. Students should have studied Chemistry with Biology or Home Science in their higher secondary education. The Department focuses on educating and preparing students for careers in nutrition science, food service management, and dietetics. The department combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience to address diverse challenges in food systems and dietary practices. The project work and research help the students gain a deeper insight into the subject. Students have a choice of taking up different job opportunities or can become an entrepreneur. Employment potential is in becoming Nutritionists, Dietitians, Food Quality Manager, Food Processing Manager, State or Central Food safety officers, State Child development project officer or Research Assistant.

Objectives
The programme focuses on providing a sound contemporary base for the students and prepares them for various careers in the field of Home Science. It also equips students to take up entrepreneurial ventures related to food, nutrition counseling, textiles, interior decoration, and human development.

Such Microscale analysis are adapted in our chemistry laboratory to create environment friendly atmosphere.

On graduation, students acquire skills in fields like Marketing / Finance / Logistics / Banking / Insurance / IT, and ITES.Understand the conceptual knowledge of accounting and acquire skills of maintaining accounts.Develop the skills and techniques of communication to be successful in business and personal life.Recognize different value systems and ethics, understand the moral dimensions, and accept responsibility.
